~scripture of the day~

“To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without any fault and with great joy- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forever more! Amen.” Jude 24, 25

He is ABLE to keep us from falling, meaning, if we want to be kept He has the ability to do it but we have to allow Him- we get a choice in the matter. How do we exercise that privilege of having a choice? By making it up in our “heart” and mind. The decision is made first in the mind and when its planted within the heart it allows us walk it out. We don’t have to feel defeated we can rest in the fact that HE can keep us from falling…if we’ve made up our mind that this is the life, holiness, that we want to live!

The scripture tells us He can present us without fault and with GREAT joy- not just any kind of joy! I don’t know about you but that makes me want to shout! We serve an awesome and mighty God….rejoice Saints for it is definitely a privilege and an honor to have a Father that cares and loves us.

~why “this book” now…~

We are living in a day and age where sin is rampant. People come into the church “sick” and think once they commit, or attempt to commit, their lives to Christ their problems will disappear. When this doesnt happen they become discouraged because they don’t know how to adapt and they give up and end up going back to the world. I’ve talked to many of those people who are hurt, lost and confused and the consistent question I got was, “Now that I’ve given myself to Christ how do I make it last and more importantly, how do I know I’m saved?”

The Lord actually gave me the title of the book before I even wrote the first letter of the book.

Ironically, the reasons these people are confused is because of the Christians that have gone before “us” and even some of “us”- yes I’m talking about “saved folk”. Sometime between when the Azusa street revivals were going on and even before, up to this point the “Church” has become more tolerant, more accepting of sin being prevalent in our pews, in our choir stands and even in our pulpits. Because of this Christians are being reproduced at an alarming rate with a level of compromise like never before. Grace has become the crutch for sin in our church and, because of this, Christians are the laughing stock of the religious community.

It’s time to re-educate, it’s time to pray, it’s time to sound the alarm…its time for a higher standard. That’s what this book is about.
